Flere perler til hagen/ More pearls for my garden
Noen av dem kommer her:
Stor Valmuesøster. "Meconopsis Grandis"
Stor valmuesøster trives godt i woodland områder.
As previously mentioned I managed to purchase a few real treasures at Ramme farm this Sunday. Here are a few of them:
Himalayan Poppy: "Meconopsis Grandis"
Himalayan Poppy: "Meconopsis Grandis"
No, I can not resist the bright blue color of this plant in bloom! This must be the bluest of all perennials and enjoy a life in partial shade, so maybe I should plant this in my Woodland area of the property. I plan to plant it together with ferns, larkspurs and hostas. Himalayan poppies are very well adapted for woodland gardens; They prefer cool summers, a bit shady placed in humus rich and acidic soil. It must not be planted in soil with poor drainage, since it most likely will not survive the winter in such conditions.
Astilboides Tabularis:
Astilboides Tabularis.
As soon as I laid eyes on the big, round foilage of this plant I knew that it would fit perfectly next to my planned pond! It is almost something pre- historical over this plant! The big leaves almost seem to float above the ground and will be a good partner with plants of finer foilage. The plant seems to enjoy both sun and part shade, but prefers moist soil. The flowers that are of white color, but unfortunately the buds are popular by slugs.
Viburnum:
This time I purchased two Viburnums. The one is a Virburnum Furcatum, a bush with white flowers, very similar to the climbing hydrangea. This is a typical Woodland plant. It can grow up to 3,5 meters tall. It blooms in May. The flowers are hemafrodites, meaning they have both male and female genitals, but is not self- fertile. It enjoys light, medium and heavy soils (from sand to clay) acidy to neutral. The plant do not like dry soil.
Viburnum Plicatum:
Japanese Snowball bush blooms with white flowers in June- July. The flowers are hemafrodite.
Can be planted in everything from light (sandy) medium and heavy soil (clay) but wants moist conditions.
Can be planted in everything from light (sandy) medium and heavy soil (clay) but wants moist conditions.
It requires more light than its above mentioned relative, so it should be planted in full sun or partial shade.
