Middelhavshagen- Et prosjekt i startgropen /The Mediterranean garden - an unfinished project..
When the snow still was lying thick on the fields in our swedish holiday home I had many plans for the area surrounding the greenhouse soon about to be rebuilt. I wanted to plant a garden with plants recembling the mediterranean ones, so in April I started to plant out Cannas, agave, pelargonias and other plants in colours ranging from warm yellow, orange to deep red. This weekend I had the chance to see how things had developed but was chocked to see how weeds and plants from the Swedish flora had taken over the whole of this garden! Not easy to discover the mediterranen plants there, so I will have a lot to do this summer!
Picture above: An oriental poppy seem to thrive in a sunny corner of the "Mediterranean garden." I thought the whole are would be bading in sunlight all summer, but trees and bushes have grown tall and are creating shade for most of the plants, so I will have to do a lot of weeding this summer!
I will return to Sweden this weekend and shall take more pictures of the progress..
